i3D Manufacturing Expands Internationally with Acquisition of Burloak Technologies

Burloak Facilities

i3D Manufacturing (“i3D”), a business unit of BTX Precision, announced today the acquisition of Burloak Technologies, a leading provider of advanced metal additive manufacturing solutions. The acquisition expands i3D’s additive manufacturing capabilities and marks a strategic entry into Canada.

Headquartered in Oakville, Ontario, Burloak Technologies is widely recognized as one of North America’s leading metal additive manufacturing providers, delivering integrated solutions for customers in aerospace, defense, space, energy, and other advanced industrial markets.

With the addition of Burloak, i3D strengthens its position as a leader in advanced manufacturing and metal additive technologies, while expanding its ability to support complex, high-performance applications.

Burloak will continue to operate under its existing name, team, and brand, while serving as a Center of Excellence within i3D. This structure provides Burloak with increased access to resources, investment, and collaboration across the broader i3D and BTX Precision platform.

Burloak’s capabilities include metal additive manufacturing, CNC machining, heat treatment, Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP), materials testing, and advanced quality systems—enabling customers to move efficiently from design through full-scale production.

Erin Mastroni, President of i3D Manufacturing, commented:
“Burloak has built a world-class reputation in metal additive manufacturing and materials science. Bringing Burloak into i3D expands our technical depth and gives us additional resources to better support customers developing next-generation, high-performance components.”

Jason Ball, VP & General Manager of Burloak, added:
“Burloak’s team, technology, and expertise make this a natural fit. We will continue operating as the organization our customers trust today, now with greater support and investment to accelerate growth and innovation.”

Burloak will continue to operate from its facility in Oakville, Ontario, maintaining its commitment to delivering industry-leading additive manufacturing solutions across North America and globally.

Rick McIntyre, Group CEO of BTX Precision, added:
“This acquisition strengthens i3D’s leadership in additive manufacturing while marking BTX Precision’s first international expansion. Burloak enhances our ability to support customers with advanced, highly engineered solutions on a global scale.”
